There I Go...Thinking Again!

Woman Sits with Her Pen in Her Mouth Whilst Thinking About What She Should Write in Her Letter
Woman Sits with Her Pen in Her Mouth Whilst Thinking About What She Should Write in Her Letter

Another Saturday "I'm Thinking Post".

Wow! This week flew by!
I probably say that every week
but, really, it seems that they
do go so fast these days.

So, what am I thinking today?

1. Our world has changed so much
from the days that Walter Cronkite
was the News Man to watch.
After nearly a century...
he is gone.

2. I have enjoyed listening to NPR
as I go back and forth to get Mikey.
This week a conversation about patients
with dementia held my attention.
It reminded me of our friend Jane
who suffered with alzheimers.
One of her first real
displays of the disease was the
tendency to wander...she would "go
to church" at the Fairgrounds any day
of the week. All dressed up in her hat,
dress and prettiest bag.
I miss her.

My heart goes out to those family
members who are giving care to
loved ones whose minds have failed
them. What a huge job this is and
one that has the potential to break
one's heart daily.

3. Mikey is getting so tanned. He is
learning sooo much. This is a very good
thing. We even gained two new houseplants
this week.

4. Jonathan got to go fishing this week with
Grandma Ruth. I am very sure that she didn't
fish but it was so nice of her to take him.
I saw a stream this week that Jonathan will have
to try.

5. Chelsea plays so nicely with our younger friends.
I am so proud of her. Last night she and Master Kyle
Rabe were having a great time. It was fun to watch
her interact with him.

6. It was fun to begin planning a Christmas Walkthrough
at church last night. This will be a very fun thing to
work on and then offer to the community. Very strange
to talk about Christmas in July!

7. An auction of property in our neighborhood this
week brought a much higher price than anyone could
have imagined. I think this is a good thing...at
least for our property value.

8. Finally, I am so thankful for my dear husband.
He is so steady and diligent. He is the consistency
in our home. While I jump from adventure to adventure
he rolls with the changes and upsets in our schedules.
What a man!

Hope you had a great week...and even more
I hope that this week, upcoming, is awesome
for you.

Just a bit of what is on my brain today.

If anyone wants to join me in my quest to
"Think on Saturday" be sure to link back to this
post. If there should happen to be interest
in this I am willing use Mr. Linky and make
this a weekly Party.

I'm Thinking - Week Four

A host of thoughts...
and shots from my garden...

~ The camera card must be in the camera if you want it to remember the pictures of your friends at dinner.

~ It is nice and cool outside but our house won't accept the cool air. It is still hot in the kitchen and living room.

~ I am glad my friends in the New England area finally got some sunshine!

~ My photos arrived from Snapfish. They look great!!! Thanks, Melissa, for the tip. I will gladly use them again.

~ It is a relief that our Moms will not be going to Honduras next week. Too much unrest at the moment. The State Department said, "No"...

~ It is fun to help Mom get ready for a trip to El Salvador in September instead.

~ My friend, Shelley, will be visiting soon! I can't wait!

~ I can't wait to share our adventure from yesterday on Outdoor Wednesday. So fun! Unexpected fun!!

~ I wonder if Mom will let me take photos of all of her pretty blues for Blue Monday...I'll ask nicely.

~ I am so glad you stopped by today. You are the best!

~ Finally, I am thinking...Lookout weeds...here I come!

Happy day!

I'm Thinking...Week Three

I'm thinking...
I'd rather not think!

I greet today with a true
mix of emotions.

Last week was busy and fun
in many ways with the beginning
of the Longwood Internship for
Mikey...but ended with a bit
of a thud as Mikey did not get
his driver's license in his
first attempt.

Being a country boy has its
drawbacks. The parallel parking
got him. Even though he and Warren
had been in Lancaster parking in
many situations, the nerves arose.
He is taking it pretty hard.

Everyone must go through
disappointments though.
I have...you have.
They truly do make us stronger.
It just hurts like crazy in the
meantime...you know what I mean.
I know.

On the upside of this week,
dear friends from church wanted
to do a special birthday dinner
for Chelsea last night.
She will turn fourteen on Monday.
We were so blessed by Sue and Jon's
thoughtfulness. Especially since
they will have a family gathering
to celebrate their own family birthdays
today. Thank you, sweet friends.

After the meal our family, including
the grandmas, went into Willow Street
to see fireworks. We got a great place
in by the McDonalds and enjoyed the show.

So..if I had to think...Here is what
I would be thinking:

1. What is up with Sarah Palin?

2. The grass was really wet this morning
when I took the mail out.

3. I'm kind of glad for the excuse to keep
driving Mikey to work.
Sorry...I would think that
if I were thinking.

4. I should be cleaning so we can not be
ashamed to have friends over tomorrow.

5. It will be nice to have Warren at home
three days in a row.

6. My baby is almost 14!!!!!

7. There are yard sales all around me...
Gotta look!

8. Chelsea has unloaded the dishwasher.
I should go load it again.

9. With all of the technology we have at
our disposal, why isn't there a laundry robot?

10. Georgia suggested Jonathan should be a model
for men's big and tall clothing. He's at least
6'5". Hmmm....in his
new duds he does look pretty cute.

If I were thinking...I'd probably be thinking stuff
like this. But, alas, I am just too tired to think.
Probably a good thing!

Have a Happy Fourth of July.

Remember our freedom is not guaranteed!
Men and women give their lives daily to maintain
it and provide the peace we enjoy.

Today we celebrate the Independence gained a couple
of hundred years ago. I hope we will appreciate and
cherish that freedom!!
