A Post About ME...
You won't believe how nice Helena is.....She wrote this wonderful post about ME.....
I am so touched.
You have an opportunity to win a 6 ounce Irish Moss tin and a Monarch Note Card.....

Now, as I just heard it said at the Amish grocery...."skedaddle" on over.
Helena is waiting to meet you. While you are there take a peek at her
awesome paper products. I happen to love the quote about chocolate.
It's true, you know.

Don't Forget....
Take Time to Smell the Roses.....
Warren and I spent a long time in our flower beds last evening.
We will have to spend many more there in the days to come.
But the difference is notable.
I have scratches from the rose thorns and stiff muscles
from the bending and pulling.
However, gardens such as Longwood (above) are
great inspirations to keep up working at it.
Hope you've enjoyed the roses today.

Wonderful Visit
This past weekend was precious.
My Uncle Chuck and Aunt Linda came for a visit.
They ran through the downpours of Friday evening to go see Jonah.
When I say downpours...we are talking of Biblical proportions.
Jonathan was working, directing traffic in that storm
and came home soaked all the way through.
I noticed his wallet upside down to dry later that evening.
Anyway,
Uncle Chuck and Aunt Linda greatly enjoyed the
show and we had much fun discussing it at Hershey Farms
where we went for breakfast the next morning.
This was where I either learned or was reminded that
it was just after my birth that my Uncle began drinking coffee.
A habit that he has never looked back from.
The story goes that he felt an uncle was old enough
to drink that thick black liquid my Grandfather put out.
He would have been in his mid to late teens at the time.
I threw everyone for a loop and then into
spasms of laughter at one point as I shifted gears
in my head and then verbally from Jonah
flying in the show
to that little 80 year old lady who
recently had such a scary experience in a tandem
parachute jump.
Apparently everyone else was trying to figure out
why I was describing a lady jumping from an airplane in the show.
Giggles, I tell ya. Giggles.
We let Chuck and Linda peruse "our" delightful quilt shops
at their leisure all day and then had them over for
dinner on the deck.
I made baked pork chops, baked potatoes,
baked beans.
Chelsea had made Banana muffins and Georgia made
a delicious lettuce salad.
Her own home grown lettuce.
So good!
Afterwards we went to our local dairy for
ice cream and then back to Georgia's for
a game of Dirty Marbles.
Always a fun time.
I received this simply gorgeous crocheted afghan
made by the hands of Aunt Linda herself.
It is so soft and quite heavy.
I was glad they were able to stay to join us at
church on Sunday.
It was special to hear Uncle Chuck's delightful
voice singing.
Music is very important in our family and so many
hours of car rides and family times have been
spent singing together.
It is what we do.
I've missed that so much since my Dad
has moved on to the next level of music....
In Heaven.
Before lunch we took a few photos together.
Of course you have to see them....

| Finally got Mom into the picture.... |
I'm so thankful for this time spent with
these dear people.
Facebook and Blogging has been such a wonderful
tool for reconnecting and staying connected.
For this, I am delighted.
Much later in the day...
after most had left someone came running into the
Fellowship Hall and exclaimed that there was a double
rainbow over the church.
I nearly forgot my camera but seeing Kelly go for hers
I was reminded.
How fun after such a rainsoaked weekend to be reminded that
this world will never again be completely destroyed by water.
So blessed.
Yep.
That's me.

What Did a Photo of Feet Make Me Think Of?
Do you remember the children's song
Oh Be careful little feet where you go?
Oh be careful little hands what you do?
Oh be careful little mouth what you say?
For the Father up above is looking down in love.
Oh be careful........
Words we learn as children are forever tucked away
in our memory banks.
This can be good or it can be bad.
I've long taught my children to be very cautious in
what they allow themselves to see in movies or
in the media as you cannot erase it.
It stays.
And it comes back at odd times.
I'm very glad it was this little song that came back as I came across
this photo. I love that it says our Father is looking at us in love.
I believe that is so true.
I'm so thankful for all of the scripture I was forced to
learn as a child and teenager.
It is such a blessing to me even now.
Something will happen and one of those verses
or passages will come to mind.
That is part of the reason I so love
Chelsea's idea of choosing a verse most days
to write and carry with her.
To meditate on and write on the wall of her heart.
So...
Be careful little eyes.
Be careful little hands.
Be careful little feet.............................
The One who loves you is watching.

Fascinating
On our most recent visit to Longwood Gardens
Warren and I were totally fascinated by the process this
flowering ball (allium - Thanks Deanna) goes through as it matures.
Just delightful,,,,,

Crazy Sore Throat
It just won't leave.
I've now been sick for more than a month.
Went to the doctor yesterday.
It is not mono.
It is not strep.
So, I guess it is just a wicked virus
that has to work it's way through.
Other than that things are pretty good.
I am surprisingly busy with candle orders
for the time of the year.
Baby shower favors are among the
top sellers.
I'll definitely take it!
My Aunt and Uncle are coming!
It will be awesome to spend a bit
of time with them this weekend.
Uncle Chuck is one of my biggest supporters
here on the blog and
in the candle business.
Next week I get to see one of my favorite blogger
friends. I am sooooo looking forward to that.
Our Memorial Day was low key.
It ended with a delightful meal shared with
the moms and two of the boys friends.
Hamburgers and Chicken on the grill,
seasoned potatoes, baked beans,
salad made from Georgia's home grown lettuce,
strawberry shortcake and chocolate mousse.
Last evening our friends Tim and Deanna
stopped by with their daughter, Emily.
It was nice to have some moments to chat.
They have no air conditioning at the moment thanks
to a freak accident involving another daughter, Lindsay,
and her bow and arrow.
All I can say is that it must have been meant to be
because the way that whole thing went down would
be called a miracle if it were a good thing.
Deanna and the Girls have been so busy
learning to be business owners of their
new shop,
Fab Fashion.
I added a link to their online shop on my
sidebar. I think you'll be impressed with their
prices and the quality of their merchandise.
Lindsay continues to add new items on a regular
basis. It takes a lot of time and effort to be in business
and I've enjoyed watching them learn and grow.
We've been planning for an upcoming vacation to
New York. Chelsea has a week long event up there
and so rather than to drive up there twice we've decided
that Warren and I will stay and visit around the
Adirondack area.
My parents went to Bible School and were married there.
I was born in the Adirondack mountains but we
moved away before I was old enough to remember anything.
So we are going to take this opportunity to explore
and visit the places that are my history.
How special is that?
It has been crazy trying to figure out
lodging since we need to go during the peak season
for those mountain areas.
After hours and hours spent on the computer I am
thrilled with the cabin I've found for part of our stay.
It has NO running water.
So rustic. So not me.....
except that in this case, it is, if you know what I mean.
It will be so much fun to share all of it with you when we get back.
Don't hold your breath for it, though,
since we don't go until
July.
There is a new blog post
on the website.
I got my first order from the website yesterday.
Hoping that it takes off.
That would be sweet.
Do me a favor and have a wonderful day.
We will try to do the same.
Hugs.
