Trying on Mother of the Bride Dresses

Boy...this is kind of stressful.  It is also kind of fun.  I don't usually purchase formal dresses.  We don't live a formal kind of a life.  But tonight we found ourselves at a very large mall in Maryland and so I took advantage of it and began seeking "the dress".

I didn't find the one I'll wear at the wedding yet but I did find a style that I really like and will look for in different colors and lengths.

I feel like I want something that is glam.
Not something that I would normally wear to church or out to dinner.
We will see.

The face says it all here.
Not a winner in my book!

I actually liked this one pretty well in real life.
It doesn't show that well in the picture.
And who knows what that look on my face is about.
Haha!

An attempt to find a lighter dress for a May wedding.
It might be just a bit too soon.
There aren't a lot of things for Spring in the stores yet.

This was a fun afternoon and evening with Chelsea and Chadd.
Before we left they licked the invitations shut.
I was very amused by this.....

I don't think he likes the flavor!

Such a cutie!!

Chelsea also found her wedding shoes.
This is huge!  She has been wanting to get that detail taken care of for a while.

Such a productive evening.
And fun times with these young people too.
They make us laugh...
and they laugh at us.
It is a special kind of family.

I vote for the first dress, maybe in a lighter color. A friend's daughter is getting married in July and we have been looking at dresses for months. Silly, maybe, but we are having the best time. I'm looking at friend of the bride's mother dresses, but will wait until April to get serious. I do have a dress I can wear, but would like something more fun.

Sounds like fun to me:) We have an April Wedding and I am thinking about wearing a dress I already have! I really love the dress and hate to only wear it one time! Enjoy your day and everything with the Wedding planning:) HUGS!

I really like the first and the last. They are so different, but flattering and the last is just plain pretty all on its own. The first is a style that looks so good on you. Does it come in May colors?

This brought back some nice memories for me. I remember how much I hunted and hunted for a dress for my daughter's wedding. Stressful in the beginning but such a thrill when I found what I thought was the perfect dress for me. Well, at least one that I felt the most comfortable in) It was pink! (My favorite color)
