Eventually, after church, we were finally all at
the park for a picnic and walk on Sunday.
I say, finally, because there is always so much
to do and gather when we do a fairly
"spur of the moment"
picnic.
It was so disorganized that no one thought it
unwise for our family to be the carriers of the
plates and plasticware.
Um....we were the ones going home to
let the dogs out, gather things out of the oven
and load the car.
Then we were the ones stopping at the grocery store
to pick up last minute food for the picnic.
Others headed straight from church and got to
the park with their food way ahead of our family,
the Moms and Pastor Mike.
They had their food.
They had no plates.
They had no plasticware.
I heard that someone used two knives
as chopsticks to get some salad to their
"starving" mouth.
(smile)
Fingers work too, you know!
Anyway, we did get there
and then the fun began.
Haha.
After lunch some of us walked
to the
Overlook.
It continues to be just so beautiful looking out over the river.
We talked about books we've been reading
and other fun things as we walked and enjoyed time in the sunshine.
It was a bit chilly in the shade on Sunday.
I interrupted Noah's quiet/thinking time to take his picture.
He is just growing so quickly.
A new brother is about to be born in their family and he will
be the oldest brother of his 5th sibling.
What a great smile!
Zeb was a gentleman and walked with Molly
across the meadow back to the picnic area.
All of the other children had run on ahead .........
I love the walking stick. As tall as Zeb himself.
There was a bonding moment.....or three....
as Mindy spent time with a very pleased Sherlock.
We think that Sherlock makes a great mascot for our church
since he often comes along with the family for the day.
On the days he doesn't get to come
he is at home with Christian Radio playing.
So, he is the most Christian pet in the church, we figure.
After the young ones and some of the dads had worn themselves out
playing Ultimate Frisbee, they had a great chat about all kinds of fun stuff.
I didn't capture all of them but the table was surrounded.
I got distracted by a most adorable site.
My husband with Asher and Sonja.....
These precious ones belong to Sherlock's family.
I got a preview of what kind of a Grandpa
Warren might be one day, if the Lord blesses us with
grandchildren.
Check it out....
So stinkin' cute.
Even blurry as it is.
Asher had quite the hold on Warren's neck.
It was a delightful day.
Much conversation, laughter...both at and with our friends,
good food and exercise made it lovely.
Wish you could have been there.
Then it would have been just perfect.
:-)

Very cute pictures....It was a great day. I had the same thoughts about Warren and being a grandpap.
Love that this time of year when everything is turning green again. Beautiful photos!
That looks like one of those cherished "good memories" days.
Looks like aside from the craziness of getting there, it was fun. I love going out after church with family and friends on a Sunday!
Aaahhhh Becky,
Just read this post as well ... how beautiful this time of year !! It's been soo nice here, and everything is blooming away !! God is good, and I'm sure soo pleased when we are appreciating his works, and all that surrounds us, no matter where each of us is !! I love that you love the Lord, and always share your faith and HIS word ..
Miss you so, and wish you love and happiness this day ~

Oh you captured some precious moments! I love the story about the Christian radio playing for the family pet. Why don't I think of that?!
How beautiful and touching.
