What is in a Name?

Nothing...

And Everything!

Today our church picks our new name.

It is not going to be earth shattering.

When people hear the name of a Church they
do not decide to attend or not by the
words in the name...directly.

The biggest factor in visiting a church is
an invitation. Whether that is in person,
on a web site or an ad in the paper.

The most effective of these is the personal
invitation.

The Everything part of this post...

At the name of Jesus...

every knee shall bow,

every tongue will confess that HE IS LORD.

At the mention of Jesus' name Satan has to flee.

The Gaithers wrote:

"Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
There's just something about that name."

It is so true.

Soon there will be many graduations across
the Country. Instruction will be given
to Pastors and Students as they pray to
"be generic".
"Don't mention Jesus....it is offensive."

What about those of us who believe on the name
of Jesus for salvation. We are offended when the
name of Jesus is removed from prayer.
It is in Jesus Name
that we are to pray to our Father.
I am offended at the removal
of my Savior from these
ceremonies.

What is in a name?

Not much...if you are naming a church.

Everything...if that name is Jesus!

Have a blessed Sunday.
