Big Weekend!

This was a fun weekend.
It started on Friday evening with
our regular Small Group Bible Study.

As is often the case it was held at
our home. It had been arranged that
four teenage girls would be spending
the night after Small Group. We kicked
my boys out to Grandma's house and the
"fun" began.

We made tea, got into jammies and then
played Catch Phrase until 2 am.
It was fun but pointed out how much I
have aged. I got tired...

Our original plan had been to make chocolate
chip pancakes for breakfast...but someone
mentioned funnel cakes and I thought that
sounded like fun. After looking up a recipe
on the computer it didn't sound bad so we put
that on the agenda for Saturday morning.

This was soooo fun! Liza gets the blue ribbon for
her flower funnel cake. Isn't that cool?

Yes, that is chocolate and whipped topping...isn't that how you
eat your funnel cake? LOL

Another round of Catch Phrase...

Then...
I took the girls back to their parents, dropping
some at home and for others meeting at a local
shopping center. I came home to prepare the
house for Warren's return, after three weeks.

I'm not sure but I think there was a bit of a
nap that happened Saturday afternoon...yawn!

This is the longest time Warren has been away since we
have been married. It was a bit strange in that we
were fine...but missed him like crazy.

We had our incidents, if you'll recall...
Broken water pipe, Broken van.
But God was faithful and we made it through.
Gives me a tiny bit of understanding of what
our military families go through...but without
the fear. I am very appreciative for these men
and women who serve our country.

It was wonderful to see Warren!

He was so glad to be home!

Yesterday we thought we would spend a couple
of hours at Longwood Gardens to just relax.
After lunch at Applebees we arrived at the
Gardens to find they were having their wine
and cheese jazz festival...there were cars
everywhere...
Since we had been there on New Year's Eve and
walked shoulder to shoulder with people we decided
to take a rain check and just enjoyed our Sunday
drive to Kennett Square and back.

Our friends came over last evening for the usual
food and fellowship. A good time was had by all.

Now back to a regular week so I can catch up with
sleep and housework.

I want, so much, to get a couple of flower beds planted
before my surgery on the 16th.

Blessings on your day!

Hey Becky,
So glad Warren made it back safe and sound. Please let me know if I can help with the flower beds... I certainly don't mind and would enjoy it. Glad you and your family had a great weekend!

Hi Becky!

Wow, I can't believe this California girl is the first to comment... It's 5:47 AM here and I woke up early. I will be waking the boys up in just a few minutes, but before I do...

LOL on your Catch Phrasing at 2 AM. At 50, I'm realizing that some of my late night stamina is waining. My family plays this game—as well as Balderdash and Charades—at Christmastime. It's great fun.

And those funnel cakes look delish!

I agree with you on you "Amazing Grace" comment at my blog. Isn't that video moving? I have watched it several times and it just seems to become more powerful!

Oh happy day!

I am thankful for you and your great influence on them!

Glad Warren is home! Hi Warren!

Four teenage girls??? You are a brave woman...But it looked like fun!! I recognize two of your guests!

You should have the four teenage girs plant your flowers for you. You would get it done quick and before your surgery!!

Glad to hear your DH is home. Someone else to shoulder the concerns of the house!!
