Living Beautifully

This has been a challenging
week. Getting back home from
two weeks of fun and sun.

First thing?
A Nor'Easter on Sunday into
Monday with temperatures near
zero. There was beauty in the
snow, though.
It helps to know
that it may have been the last
big one for this year.

It was also wonderful to have
the offer of help from two
neighbors as it related to getting
Mikey to work and clearing driveways.

One neighbor, Jim, cleared Georgia's
driveway...That was way cool.
Saved Warren nearly an hour I would
think! It was done in no time while
Warren cleared our's and Mom's.

We once again enjoyed dinner on
Wednesday evening with our Moms.
This time Georgia was the hostess.
It was a lovely meal and I was able
to add...

my freshly baked French Sweet Bread!

I did it!
Made my first ever from scratch bread.
Karen, from Blue Barn Bulletin, blessed me
with a handful of recipes to try...
Thanks Karen!
Right now if you go to Karen's blog
you will find a recipe for lemon poppyseed
scones that sound delightful!

I have used the bread machine and boxed
recipes, frozen dough, banana breads and
things like that but I have always been
afraid to try yeast bread from scratch.

Other bloggers examples and encouragement
made this an important milestone for me.
Both loaves were gone that same evening.

Baby steps...

In other Beautiful Life news.
My students at our homeschool co-op
seemed happy to see me yesterday.
I loved the hugs and the huge smiles.
Blesses this "old" heart.

In the elementary music class
we are watching "The Music Man".
What a creative use of music in that
film. I think the class will get a real
kick out of it.

I made up a madlib about a music
class whose teacher had gone on
a trip and used the beach, sandcastle,
rollercoasters and animals we saw.

They filled in most of the adjectives
and verbs for the story.
It turned out quite funny.
These children very much enjoy madlibs.

Well, today is a new adventure...
who knows what it will bring.
But I am ever thankful for my
Lord, my family and very precious friends.

I am thankful for YOU!
Have a truly Beautiful Day!

It looks beautiful, Becky!

I'm so happy you took the plunge and it went well. The first time trying something new can be so scary-but now you are practically a pro.

Nice to be missed by the co-op students. It's a sweet payback for the effort you put into teaching them, isn't it?

Did you find the cause of your son's leg pain yet?

Terri...definitely praying! I am sure you are also "seeking His face" for His will in whatever situation you are facing.

Karen...We are going to do some physical therapy, well, actually it is just Jonathan doing the therapy (wink) thankfully. No real answer yet. We will see if that helps.

Commenting Friends...thanks for the encouragement on the bread. Small...but mighty! Now, I know I can do it!

Hmmm, bread and scones...can't go wrong. You are a very creative gal to come up with madlibs for the kids to enjoy.

Becky, Your bread looks beautiful! I am sure that it tasted just as good. I also love The Music Man...its one of those films that make you smile, and I have always been a supporter of teaching kids an instrument. I played the cello right through the end of high school and my middle daughter plays multiple instruments. I just love your upbeat attitude. Its inspiring.
