Christmas Day Menu - The Debate!

Mom called yesterday.

The kids were watching a video
for that part of school so I was
able to talk to her.

It was time to determine the menu
for Christmas Day.
You may have done this months ago...
but that is just not how we operate
here on our little street.

If you don't know,
My Mom and Warren's Mom
are our neighbors since the
Dads have passed away. We now
have weekly meals together and
all of our Holidays are coordinated
between three houses.

So...anyway...yesterday was THE DAY
to decide. Should we have ham and chicken?
Roast Beef and Turkey? Or some other combination
of the same?

We decided that we would do ham (Mom) and
Party Chicken (Me).
It was settled.
Then for some reason it came up with the kids
later and there was disagreement!!
Chelsea insisted that there had to be Roast Beef!
She was looking forward to that!

Jonathan wanted turkey.
Every Holiday table should have turkey was his
declaration of truth.

I called Mom and explained the dilemma.
The kids are old enough to care!
They have an opinion...and it is strong!

Chelsea won.
I will make a roast and potatoes with carrots.

It is yet to be seen if Jonathan won yet.
His wishes have been expressed to Grandma.
It is fine with the rest of us to enjoy ham,
as she planned, since we have had our share of
turkey lately...but you just never know.

What is on your menu?

Does your family have opinions?

Who cooks?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Have a great day!

Hi Becky!
I few years ago we started having steak for Christmas dinner. There are only 4 of us so it's not too bad on the pocketbook. This year we're having spinach salad, mashed potatoes, & brocoli for side dishes. We also will be having dinner rolls & dilly bread. Dessert will be pumpkin crunch cake.

Thanks for the tag!! I'll post about it after Christmas.

Have a blessed very 'Merry Christmas'.

ooh, steak! Yum!

We are doing ham, cheesy potatoes, Company Sweet Potatoes (so good, like dessert)and California Blend veggies in cheese sauce.

I usually host and do the main part of the cooking, however this year Mom is hosting on Christmas Eve, before church, and I am bring the veggie dishes!

We will have pumpkin roll and English Apple Pie for dessert, after church while we watch "The Nativity Story".

We are doing a pork loin roast for Eric's family. We will have Bob's six cheese mac and cheese, Italian green beans, rolls, and cheesecake for dessert. We'll probably have tomato basil soup for a starter.

We are having ham. We always do turkey for Thanksgiving and ham for Christmas. I'm not sure what all we'll be having with it. My mother-in-law does the cooking. I know there will be pecan pie for dessert along with oodles of cookies.

The day after Christmas is when we will actually doing Christmas with presents and all because one of Duane's sisters and her family can't be there for Christmas day this year. When we do this, we're going to have a Christmas brunch, which two of my sisters-in-law are planning. This will be a first. I'm looking forward to it.
