Becky, my son's name is also Jonathan; God's gift! Your post brought a tear to my eye because God is so good to answer our prayers (my son also had a health crisis when he was young), and because of your confidence in the Lord's good plans for your son's life. I know your week hasn't been easy but am praising God with you today for our healthy, grown-up sons (mine's 23).
