Chivalry is NOT Dead!

Gentleman Helps a Lady to Descend from a Carriage

Today the kids and I had some errands to
run. We were about to get out of our van
and run into Joanne Fabric when a couple
pulled in in front of us.
This couple was most likely in their mid
to late sixties. We could not help but
stare as this gentleman got out of the car
alone. He walked around the car and came
to the passenger door. He then opened the
door for his smiling wife.

All at the same time Chelsea, Jonathan and
I exclaimed how cool that was!
We were struck by how rare this has become
in our day and age.

Chivalry is not dead!!!

This evening I was leaving a building and
was met by a man and his wife entering.
I let the wife come past me and the husband
held the door for me. I thanked him.
He said, "You are VERY welcome!"

Oh. My. Goodness.

I love this!

Chivalry is not dead!
Gasping, maybe...

Very often I am saddened by the lack of
respect I observe around me...but today was
a good "people watching" day.

Just wanted to share the great news.
...In case you were planning a funeral.

Many thanks to Allposters for these fun
photos that fit the subject.

That is good news indeed!

This reminds me of something that happened yesterday: Amelia and I were at a large shopping center, closing the place down, and just as we were leaving she went to a vending machine to get a drink. Well, it ended up eating her money:( SHe was standing there distraught (she was really really thirsty;)) when a janitor came up and offered to help. He ended up calling one of his workmates and the two of them pooled their money and bought her another drink. Just out of the kindness of their heart♥ It just made her whole day. We got a customer comment card on the way out, so that she can report their kindness to their bosses☺

I like nice people, don't you? ;)

Oh, Becky... this reminds me so much of my father. He had the most exquisite manners. My husband has nice manners, too, but my father was elegance personified. He was downright courtly.

Love this...

XO,

Sheila :-)

Glad to hear Chivalry is alive and well in your area because Chivalry seems to have taken a leave of absence in my area of the world lately:)

How cool. Maybe if we work on our sons it will come back. Side note I decided to wear more skirts and dresses. I notice men treat you different. They seem to try you more like a lady. I thought that was interesting!
