Blues in a Balloon...
All of this talk of "Balloon Boy" and his
irresponsible parents has brought back a fond
memory from a few of years back.
It is much happier than the aforementioned
alleged activities by the family from Colorado.
Living in Lancaster County it is not uncommon
to see hot air balloons giving tourists a unique
and beautiful view of the farmland and small villages
that dot the landscape in our neck of the woods.
One would think then, that seeing one land would
be fairly common, as well. However, that has
not been our experience as we live on a tree lined
street with a fenced field across the street.
So, imagine our surprise one day as we looked
out to see this balloon landing in the fenced in
pasture. Apparently they came down a bit sooner
than they had intended.
Before we knew it the entire neighborhood was engaged
in assisting them to lift the basket over the electric
fence, usually intended for keeping dairy cattle inside.
Note the colorful accents on this balloon.
I do believe I see a very charming shade of blue
there. This is just perfect for a Blue Monday Post.
Thanks Sally.

I absolutely agree!
My first BM entry
Wow! That would be a shock to see this huge balloon in your back yard! Enjoy your BLUE MONDAY and be sure to come visit me when you have a minute!
That would be so scary to land when/where you weren't supposed to land. I'm glad you grabbed your camera, Becky. Happy blue Monday.
That would be a scary experience. I'm glad that you were camera-ready. Happy Blue Monday.

How fun! The colors on that balloon are so bright and clear☺
Hi Becky,
Hubby and I were sitting at the park one evening and I had forgotten to take my camera. Would you believe I missed getting a great shot of an air balloon right in front of us? I was so annoyed for having forgotten the camera! Would have made a great Blue Monday picture. Yours is wonderful!
Blessings,
Sandi
Balloon ride is fun and exciting...Happy blue Monday.
Hi, Becky! :-)
Wow... what an incredible sight to see in your yard! That balloon is beautiful, but what if he had landed it on a house! Yikes! I'm glad, though, that it ended up being a fun time for the neighborhood. I am just fascinated by hot air balloons. Thanks for sharing this great shot.
Wishing you a Happy Blue Monday...
XO,
Sheila :-)
These are the prettiest balloons. I am glad one came by near you for viewing, but no one getting hurt.
What a wonderful photo. Thanks so much for sharing it with us today. I hope you are having a wonderful Blue Monday.
Hello Dear Becky,
Beautiful Blue Monday. The colors in the balloon are so pretty. It is sometimes little happenings like this that bring neighbors together and maybe even meet a few new folks.:o) No matter how many times I have seen a hot air balloon, it still stops me right in my tracks to gaze up in awe. Beautiful post Becky. You enjoy a beautiful week my friend.
Smiles...
Beverly

Wow I have never seen them land but I have seen alot of them on my early morning drive home from work. That must have been an exiciting thing to see.
I don;t know what is up with the balloon in Colorado, but if what they pulled was a farce, they should be punished, fined or something.
Your story is a fun event. Especially since no one was hurt. How exciting and what a memory too. Balloon like that are so colorful. I would never go up in one but I think they are beautiful.
Hugs, Jeanne
So much fun... I love the rainbow effect of colors on the balloon! Not sure I'd be brave enough to go up in one though... heights and me don't get along too well. Although I do flying in planes...so maybe there's hope yet! ;o) Happy week, Becky ((HUGS))
