I've Been Hitting Homeruns in the Kitchen!

Normally you do not hear me bragging
about my cooking.
That is not my thing.
I don't mind cooking....
but I don't get all excited looking forward
to our evening meal and its prep.

Perhaps this is because somehow
I have raised two extremely picky eaters.
I have no idea how that happened as
the rest of us pretty much eat anything that isn't
still moving.

Well, in the past week
Michael has commented three different
nights that what I had made was better
than the version of it he loves elsewhere.
Oh.my.goodness.

And he loved his lunch sandwiches too.
Go figure.

So...if you want to get to Mikey's heart
here is the key:

Locally grown fresh tomatoes....on just about anything.
This was the key to his lunch sandwiches.
I used them on BLT Panini's.
Oh yes, they were amazing.

Then there were the homemade stromboli's.
They were a serious hit too.
I happen to be pretty stinkin' good with
the whole bread thing.
Don't know why...
I just have the knack.

And on Tuesday evening we had chicken wraps.
Would you believe he thought they were better
that those found at the golden arches?
Really?

Apparently this is high praise.

Warms a Momma's heart
I tell you.
So warm.
I was pleased to find fresh fruit at
our local Amish grocery.

So pretty.

This is a great time of the year for
good eats.

Fresh!

Fun!

Easy!!

BLT = YUM!!

Of course the bacon has to be extra crispy and the tomato needs just a touch of salt on it!

Mmmm... makes me hungry just thinking about it!

Fresh produce does make a world of difference, doesn't it? Is Mike the "will eat anything" kid or is he one of the fussy ones? I raised one of each. Too bad that the one who's fussy now has a fussy one of his own.
