I Survived Yesterday!!!

Thank You for your comments and love.

It was one of those days that you just think
you can't face anyone.  Your heart is heavy and
tears are just below the surface...
except when they aren't.
Then they are annoying!

I got a call from my Aunt Naomi
yesterday morning.
She was just checking in to
see how we were doing.
What a sweet lady she is.
I felt better after chatting with her.

We made it to bowling and I got to see my
dear friend, Phyllis.  She happens to be the
Momma of Mrs. Rabe (Creekside Cottage).
I love her.  Yes, I do.
We spent lovely time chatting away.
I actually bowled one game...
the first in months.
I think it may be my very last as my neck complained
from the very first frame and even now is hen pecking
me to never, ever do that again.
Sigh....

Mikey has been having gushing bloody noses since he
took an elbow to the face during a game of ultimate frisbee
a couple of months ago.  They called from his work on
Monday and he was not feeling too well after another bad
one...his second that day...it was 9:00 am.  So....we went
to the doctor and got that cauterized.  So far, so good.

Chelsea had been struggling hard with her Anorexia and
on Monday morning agreed to see her doctor about it.
So, after Mikey's appointment it was Chelsea's turn.
Her doctor is amazing.
We are scheduled to see a specialist later this month.
On this we need prayer.
Chelsea has decided that by the time we see the next
doctor they are going to see that she is completely healthy
and send her home healed.
I say...go for it...my dear girl.
If that is the motivation you need to be healthy
then that doctor is worth her co-pay!!!!
So....this means that yesterday was a good eating day.
But, that was just one day.
It will take many of these to return her to health.
So much remains unsaid but I am ever so thankful
that my girl and I are close.
I love her to pieces!!!
She is so brave to go public with this.

We go to the doctor for Warren tomorrow for chronic
pain that is just terrible.  His pain medication doesn't touch it.
Please pray that they can do something to relieve this
pain.  We are all getting cranky...You know?

So...last night we had a kick-off meeting for our homeschool
co-op and I did something I have never done before.
Mrs. Rabe asked me if I would be willing to pray to open
the meeting....I declined.
Too weepy.
Not going there in front of
all those wonderful parents.  But, she understood and asked
one of the Dads and he was happy to do it.

That is the worst of the happenings around here.
In the grand scheme of things it is not that bad...
but add it all together and I really needed those
verses yesterday.  I kept coming back and reading
them all the while re-reading your comments.
I was blessed.
Truly.

He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.

He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear
and put their trust in the LORD.

 Blessed is the man
who makes the LORD his trust.

Another precious Psalm.
A treasure.

Dear Becky,
I'm emailing you a poem my Uncle Jack sent me this morning. I think it will give you encouragement. I'm praying for each of you.

Becky dear... you just have so much on your plate right now, don't you hon?

Tell Chelsea that I am thinking of her often and praying for her too. How brave of her to go public with this. You wouldn't know it to look at me these days, but I struggled with anorexia when I was a teen myself... It's really hard and I do understand a teensy bit of what she might be feeling. Many many ♥hugs♥ and the warmest of thoughts to both of you...

Oh. And about the nose bleeds. Know what Lizzie the EMT and Senior LIfeguard does? Sticks tampons up the noses of those who have a greater challenge with nose bleeds .. for swim team members as well as the general population. It helps. Just sayin'.

Oh my goodness, my heart goes out to you today. All that you are going through made my worried seem small. I am sending a big hug your way today and a prayer for God's strength and comfort.

Becky, I always hesitate to say that I know what someone is feeling, but in this case, I think I have a glimpse. Watching Dr. Phil recently (something I rarely do) I heard him say that when life becomes overwhelming it's as if we have horrible "sunburns" and everything that happens is a jab into the sunburn. Praying that Warren gets relief from pain. Pain is debilitating and there has to be a doctor out there somewhere who knows how to help him. Praying for each of your concerns and asking the Father to become big and mighty on your behalf and for your family. There will come a day when we will stand back and see His hand upon us. Have you read what Miss Sandy wrote to me on the umbrella piece? I said that I have to get my umbrella up over my own life and she responded in a very special way. It's true for us all.

Blessings today...rest today...and tears are healing, too.

Becky, I'm sorry to hear all the worries that have you so down. I just came back from vacation and have been reading this morning. I didn't know about Chelsea. My neighbor's daughter struggles with anorexia, too, and she has her ups and downs. I know you're worried about her. And Warren's pain, and the bloody noses that Mikey's having (hope the cauterizing does its job!). And you, my friend, who is in the throes of "the change". No wonder you're hitting the skids. But you have a Savior who knows how you feel about everything and you know where to go for comfort and help. May the Lord bless you and keep you and your family under His wing. I'm sending up prayers for you and yours for God's healing touch, for His peace and calm in the storms of life, and that you all will be restored. Big hug to you Becky - Vickie

We all have days like this. We just have to hope and pray they do not come too often. Hang in there as it will get better. Bless you today and every other day.

That's a lot on your plate .. a lot for a family to go through. I hoping that things improve for you.

We are sorry to hear that Mikey was still having problems with bloody noses, but the elbow to the nose was a complete accident caused by two people focusing more on a frisbee than on people around them. It was like any other injuries that happen in games and sports. We certainly hope that there will be no further nosebleeds in Mikey's future.

Also, I am glad that Chelsea has seen her doctor. She continues to be in my prayers. As a matter of fact, the Lord brought her to my mind first thing this morning and I spent time praying for her. She is a sweet girl and I look forward to her victory over this disorder.

I will add you and Warren into my prayers in a new way. I've been praying for you in helping Chelsea, but I will now pray for your poor neck and Warren's pain. I hope the Lord will bring healing to your family. We love you all.

Till then, I'm lifting you and her and her doctors up in prayer.

I didn't get to check blogs the past few days and didn't know all of this happened. I am thinking of you and your sweet family. Prayers and hugs for better days, pain-free days and soothing times ahead. You are a great Mom, and I know your husband and children call you blessed!!! Have a good week and take care of yourself. Hugs.

Becky, I haven't been keeping up with blogs much this summer, and as I just read your entry I was convicted of not holding up my end of our blogging friendship. Please forgive me...I will do better about reading and praying. Remember the blog when I posted choices of things to share on posts...One was "Meeting God at the 'wailing wall'". Having been at the 'wall' a number of times, I can feel the pain in your words. I will pray for your dear, sweet daughter. May the Lord use your love and His love to help her heal.
Now that I know, I will add you all to my prayer list.

Becky I love you as well. I will continue to pray for my sweet friend Chelsea and for Warren. I know how difficult it is to watch the ones you love suffer so. I am keeping you in my prayers as well dear friend. Love you all.

My heart goes out to you. Sometimes it's just hard, isn't it? Your faith shines through, even in the trials, and that is an inspiration to everyone that reads your blog Becky. Please know that. I'll be praying for you and your family :-)
