Well, I finally did it.
Visited the Eye doctor.
Not the one that orders glasses....
the one who puts evil drops in there
and then shines bright lights all around.
Then they send you out and tell you
that driving should not be a problem.
However, you probably will want to
wear sunglasses and never mind that
you cannot tell whether that little gauge
says you are in drive or neutral.
You are just fine.
I got mixed news from the doctor.
My eyes are very fine.
No issues with them other than
the ones we already know about....
glasses required.
Apparently the issues I have been experiencing
are all migraine related. Even if I don't get the
headache it is still considered a migraine.
I learned something.
Something that made a lot of sense.
When you get eye disturbances with a migraine
it has absolutely nothing to do with your eyes...
It is your brain sending false signals to your eyes.
"Kind of like a mirage", he said.
That totally explains why I have the hardest time
explaining what happens as it seems more like a
sensation with real symptoms than reality.
Weird, I know.
Anyway, the downside of the appointment is that
he believes, as do I, that my last mega migraine actually
caused a tiny stroke. This means that I am at higher risk
for a larger stroke and must be super cautious with my
blood pressure and should be taking an aspirin a day.
Apparently it is rare but not unheard of for migraines
to progress to the point of a stroke. With the right
sided weakness and other symptoms he is pretty
sure that is what happened.
Scary!
But....my eyes are FINE!
Thank you, very much!
Sigh....

Becky. I hope that your very next appointment is with your physician. There are medications that are more efficacious than aspirin and that do not have the danger of a bleed as aspirin does. Make an appointment today. Please. Hugs... (Yes, I am now taking blood pressure medication and I feel so much better. I'm so glad that I called my doctor because there was an answer for why I was feeling so weird.)
Oh, Becky, how scary! I agree with Vee that you need to see your regular doctor as soon as possible. Praying for you!
I agree with Vee. Take care my friend.
Hugs & Love,
Carol
That makes sense to me...the symptoms that you experienced seemed stroke like.
Now that you have learned that your eyes are good, it is time to visit your family doctor about the migraines and the possible mini stroke. Take care of yourself!
Yes i agree about seeing your dr. I was put on blood pressure medicine and it made alot of difference for the better. Don;t put it off.
Oh, I am so sorry to hear that about a stroke. Take care of yourself sweet friend.
Glad your eyes are fine-but not so glad to hear the source of the problem!
Oh dear friend, I am happy that your eyes are fine BUT we'll certainly be praying that NO strokes come!
Have a blessed evening, HUGS!
Please take care of yourself! Praying for you.
