Great Light!

This is an Outdoor Wednesday Post.
Visit Susan at A Southern Daydreamer
for more Outdoor Wednesday Posts.

Only since starting this blog
have I discovered a love of
photography.

The first many posts on this
blog were wordy...
I guess I began with many
thoughts to share...
You know all "That Wisdom"!
LOL

But, as time has gone on the
photography side of it has
seriously grown on me.

Saturday as we were at Hershey
Park, you can see photos here,
a time of day came when I could
not help but pull out the camera
since there was a very special
"light" atmosphere.

What once would have meant nothing
now was incredibly compelling.

The sun hitting this tree was
beautiful. I am sure there are
those sitting nearby wondering
what wonderful bird I was trying
to photograph, but alas, it was
just the wonder of the sunlight
featuring the bark and leaves.

This new love has brought a former
indoor person outside. It has opened
up a whole new world.

Fun!

What has blogging changed in your
life? Has it been positive?
Do you take kidding from friends
and relatives?

I do!
But I don't care!
It has enriched my life
by way of a creative outlet
and a new world of friendships!

No wonder your brother is an avid fly fisherman, having grown up beside Penns Creek. Our campground is near the Boy Scout camp near Laurelton and just beyond Penns Creek Campground.

How has having a blog changed me you ask? Well, I spend less time on the treadmill and more in my chair:) Thus, it has now caused me to diet from lack of exercise. I also am running around with a camera and looking at things in a different way. Sort of stopping and smelling the roses more and of course making wonderful friends. Signed up for a photo class in the Fall. Learning new and interesting things and seeing so many beautiful places that I would never have the opportunity to visit but through photos/blog. I am traveling all over the world and I don't even have to worry about what to wear or if I am having a bad hair day:) This is all so much FUN.

Becky, you are so good at this! I love your photos, and I love the way the light hits that tree, too.

Blogging has helped me to see differently when I'm taking photos, and I think it's made a difference in my abilities. I never thought I could take pictures before, but I'm improving. And my friends and family (some of them) think my blogging is nuts. LOL! Mr. Magpie doesn't. He approves. And like you, I love and enjoy it. :-)

XO,

Sheila :-)

Hi Becky,
Love your pictures and yes I love blogging too. I have rediscovered my interest in photography as well and have gone so far as to get a new camera (thanks to the hubby) Some people don't understand blogging but we do don't we? and we will continue on ... ;)
Thanks for stopping by, I enjoyed your visit.

Becky, taking pictures opens up the world for you.

My husband, his father and brother are all professional photographers, although Ron doesn't do it for a living. Listening to them through the years just amazes me. They see the world differently than most of us.

You are talented, lady....no doubt about it.

Oooops, forgot part of your question.....yes, I love blogging. I am totally surprised and amazed by it.

No....I do not like to be teased and have come to a place in my life where I simply state this fact. I do not feel the need to suffer anymore at the hands of people who have no idea, whatsoever, of the power of their words.

Great photos. I agree I didn't stop and enjoy life and save it with a photo until I started blogging. Now I think I carry a compact camera everywhere I go.
Thanks for sharing and have a great day!

I really loved your post! Your pictures are stunning and I have to say amen to so many of your thoughts and feelings! From being teased to taking so many non people pictures! It feels good to stop and smell the roses. Digital camera's make that so much nicer also. Good luck with your class. You already look superb though!
I enjoy so many wonderful firendships I have found in this blogging world of wonderful and real people!
I have learned to step out of my comfort little space in the world and learn more about brothers and sisters throughout the world. I do worry about safety of my family and ID though.

Hello Becky!

A beautiful post and equally beautiful photos. It is truly amazing how blogging has changed so many lives. I cannot begin to tell you just how so many of you inspire me in so many ways. I too was the shy one about blogging. My sweet hubby helped me get started and the rest is history!:o) I cannot believe all the beautiful people I have met and have lots of new friends because of it.:o) Yes there are some family that simply do not understand blogging, but oh my they just do not realize what they are missing!:o) Keep taking those beautiful pictures and thanks for this lovely post!

Another great post. I am not a photographer at all, (ask Jim how many times I have taken pictures of feet, ceilings, etc smile) but I do find since I am blogging the camera has come out more. Blogging has definitely opened a new world for me. It's so much fun to meet people on line (and off-line--like meeting you in person) Never thought that would happen when I started blogging. I was just going to post a couple of pics of my crafts and that's it.
I so enjoy looking at what everyone is sharing and has made me want to start doing a lot of the things again that I stopped doing...like some of my crafts, etc.

Your pictures are lovely. Blogging has taught me to think before I speak/write and to slow down and notice all that is around me. I now carry a camera wherever I go.

I'm definately with you in having my eyes opened to the world around me since I started blogging. I do not go anywhere without my camera. I do get kidded a lot about the time I spend on my blog but I've learned to smile and take it in stride.
I like the light you captured in your tree shots...

I'm so with you on this! I am currently yearning for a bigger, better camera, although mine takes good enough shots, as a blogger I am appreciating great photography.

I relly admire your Outdoor Wed. pictures.

Yes I get some flack from family and friends, they wonder why I ALWAYS carry my camera with me. they dont understand the mind of a blogger!

Could you imagine me not having my camera while viewing those huge leatherback turtles?

Have a wonderful day!
