The Surprise - Part Three - Finale

Our visit with our friends from
Blue Barn Bulletin
went very quickly. All of a
sudden it was Monday morning.

We had prearranged to go to
a local breakfast buffet.
You might remember Dienner's
Before we left, I asked them
to look into the sun so I could
take their pictures.
What was I thinking?
That wasn't nice.
But they are a very lovely
family, don't you think?

Our Moms went to breakfast
with us
leading to
 discussion of Michigan.
My Mom was born and raised in Michigan.
We found out on Sunday that Karen and Clarence actually
attend the very church my Grandpa used to pastor.
In fact my Mom was in Kindergarten at the time.
It can be the smallest of worlds sometimes.

Of all the blogging friends from which to choose a pen pal.
Of all the places they could live.
Of all the churches they could attend.

What were the chances?

This is one of those times when I can imagine
our Heavenly Father watching and waiting with
anticipation for us to discover these things.
I think He smiled.

I also think He smiles when he hears
Clarence tell stories.
A real storyteller, this man.
We laughed so hard at breakfast...
that is after a couple cups of coffee.
The guys were pretty quiet until then.

After breakfast we had to say goodbye.
I admit to shedding a few tears.
One is blessed to find friends like these.
I am truly blessed.
It is no longer just the girls who will be
sharing email space. I am sure that Karen and I
typing away too....

You know, I have been "online" for years... I started back in the day when email loops were the only kind of community that was available, a'way back in the 90's! It was just so fun though. I've continued to love online friendships and fellowship ever since. And it's funny... really every online friend that I have met in "real life" was pretty much exactly as I had pictured them. No one was weird or anything- or at least no one was any weirder than me! heeheehee

It looks like you have such a lovely time with your friends... looking forward to the day when we can meet up!

I like that last picture! I think this is the first time I've seen a picture of you! I hope that your friendships continue for many, many years.

It IS a small world, Becky! I'm so glad you found some new friends and made such a great connection there from way back! May God bless your newfound friendship with many more wonderful get-togethers!

I imagine that email will be burning up the internet highways!

Good Morning Becky Sweetie...
I am so thrilled for you. What a wonderful time you all had, and your photos and shares were just wonderful.

Remember you never say good-by it is "See you again soon."

I love the photo of the 4 of you. It is so pretty. You should frame it and keep it for a rainy day when you need a smile.

I so enjoyed meeting you and sharing the luncheon with you. It was one of my favorite hilights of this year. Thank you for a cherished memory my friend.

Country hugs and much love to you sweetie...Sherry

That's what's so great about computers and blogs and facebook, it really helps us keep those long distance relationships going.

Great photos, especially the one of you and Warren with Karen and Clarence.

You won't believe...

today I was at the church talking to my friend, the secretary. I told her about your g'pa being a former pastor and she asked his name. When I told her, she had a strange look on her face.

Seems his name has just come up recently. Someone was researching a tape(?) and trying to confirm if it was from 1945-1950. There were some names spoken on the tape and one was your grandpa's. Incredible, isn't it?

They figured if they could place when your g'pa pastored there, they could figure out how old the recording was.

I am enjoying hearing about this so much! I saw Karen the Sunday before Chelseas party and she told me about their plans. I gave her a shocked look and said "I can't believe you are going to stay with someone you met on the internet" then we both laughed because I would do that with some of my blog friends too:>) What a small world it is, to think your grandpa pastored their church! I agree with you, I'm sure God was smiling:>)
