I drove past the Lancaster County Park
today. The weather was so very pretty.
The sky blue and the sun was warming
things so nicely.
I was tempted to stop.
To stop and remember...
Remembering Mikey's 13th birthday at the
Skate Park here. The day that he was
determined to drop into the "big" bowl.
A long drop to ride on four tiny little
wheels and a wooden board.
It took 45 minutes or more of coaxing,
encouraging, threatening, and pleading
for him to work up the courage. By the
time he did it most of the party guests
had gone home. But he did it!
He never looked back.
Since that day he has "dropped in"
hundreds of times.
Jonathan has hiked the trails of this
park. He loves to explore. Nature
and woods hold a special charm for him.
It is not unusual for Jonathan to take
a walk when he needs to think things
through or just spend some alone time.
Over the years this
park has provided
acres to explore.
When we drove by today
I thought fondly of these
days gone by.
I was so tempted to just ignore
the plans we had for the afternoon
and pull in to enjoy the onset of
Spring just calling out to us.
But alas...
it was not to be.
Not today.
Today there were things to be
accomplished and friends to spend
time with. It was good.
More memories made.
The ones God had for us.
Now, I have a favor to ask of you...
my Grandmother is in the hospital
with Pneumonia and failing kidneys.
Would you kindly keep this 86 year old
child of God in your prayers?
At the same time my Mom is struggling
with some health issues of her own.
These ladies are so precious to me and
it breaks my heart to have them less than
one hundred percent.
I would dearly appreciate your prayers
for both Mom and Grandma.
Thank You!

Good memories there, Becky. We've planned on moving out to our farm in the next year or two, and already I'm missing the hometown and the places we've made lots of memories with our kids. It'll be hard to leave.
Of course, I'll keep your sweet Mom and Grandma in my prayers. It's so hard to watch them get older and have problems. They are in God's care and He is the master physician. Rest easy, Becky...
Isn't Lancaster wonderful for the many parks that we are able to visit. Just recenly David and I went to Muddy Run and last week David, hannah and myself all went to the Susquehannock park to watch the birds (we think they were mostly turkey vultures). Justin has dropped down that bowl many times. Your Grandmother and Mom are in my prayers.
I'm sorry that a stop was not to be, but I know that you won't be able to ignore the tug much longer. Yes, I can certainly add your grandmother and your mother to my prayer list. May you see a miracle even this day.
Prayers on the way, Becky! :o) Place...they can be so tied to memories and tug at our heart... ((HUGS))
Prayers for those two precious women in your life.....God bless....
