Welcome to the first
Outdoor Wednesday
in August...
crazy isn't it?
Just "moments" ago we
were watching our perennials
poke their heads through the
soil reaching for the sun.
Now they are just full
of beauty and color.
Too soon we will be cutting
the plants back and tucking them
in for the winter.
Each week we, each in our
own way, document the
out-of-doors as we
see and enjoy it.
What a blessing.
Our hostess is Susan at
A Southern Daydreamer.
Please feel free to stop
by to see Susan and visit
other outdoor posts.
Almost daily I pass by my Mom's house.
Lately I have been noticing this flower
bed in her yard getting brighter and brighter.
So, I waited until she wasn't looking and took
several photos. Then I went in and had a very
nice chat with her.
Sneaky me.
Actually, I know she would love to share these flowers
with you. When Mom worked full time she would often
come home, make dinner and then head to her garden and
her flowers.
One of the best things about retirement for
Mom is the time she has to spend with her plants.
It amazes me to see the way plants and flowers just
grow for Mom when it is all I can do to grow the easiest
things. Must be all of that attention and Miracle Grow.
The gentle peach of a lily.
Thanks Mom!
Touring your garden
has been very fun.

Your comments made me think - yes, the summer season is short... But wait, through October things are beautiful, and snow is pretty too.. But I will miss the flowers.
Just beautiful flowers!

What a nice feature on your mom's flowers. She and I would make a pair as I dearly love my flowers and yard. Hers are beautiful and you can tell she has taken good care of them.

The zinnias are always so bright and cheerful. They just last and last. I don't know why I have never planted any. I always admire them in other gardens.
