He is a Challenge

Time Spent Teaching
Time Spent Teaching

Yesterday while I sat waiting
for Jonathan to get his wisdom
teeth out I kept myself occupied
with a History Text and a notebook.

I have challenged myself to find
enough material that is new to
Jonathan to make up several classes.

Our primary focus this year, when it
comes to this subject is on Government
but since he is such an "expert" on
American and British History I love
to see what I can stump him with.

When they came to call me back to his
room, he was OUT! He would just barely
open his eyes on command, but then he
would fall immediately back to sleep.

They left me in the room with instructions
to get him awake. So I talked to him about
this or that and as he woke he wanted to
know why I had the History book.
I told him that I was looking to challenge
him and went over the material I had made
note of. That stinker already knew at least
a quarter of the things I was pretty sure
he wouldn't know...and that was under
anesthesia!

Good Grief!

Knowledge
Knowledge

I know, this is a good thing...but it
surely does make for a challenge when one
is trying to keep it interesting.

Actually, it is not a problem as there is
always great literature available that provides
insights into the intricacy of Historical events.
We enjoy these and always learn from them.

But...I found it amusing that I couldn't trip
him up, even under serious anesthesia.

As for Jonathan's recovery, I don't know how
he will feel this morning, but I am very impressed
with his progress yesterday. He certainly has
pain, but he is handling it very well and has his
little sister waiting on him hand and foot.

She was getting him water, pain pills, food,
salt water rinses....she set up the electronic
system he needed to watch movies by way of
Netflix live. She is good!
Love that girl!

I am going through another time of serious
pain...grrrr....but hopefully it will pass
quickly. Having Chelsea help her brother is
such a huge blessing to me!

God has certainly blessed our family.

Thank You, Jesus, for Your goodness
in our lives...

Sorry about your pain, Becky.

Glad to hear Chelsea has been such a help to her brother - what a blessing for you all! Glad, too, that he is recovering so well! That is answered prayer, isn't it?

Do you want to use my U.S. Government videos with the boys?

I'm sorry to hear that you're suffering. I'll pray for you and Jonathan. I know from experience that today will be rough for him.

Mornin Sweeite,
I hope and pray your son gets to feeling better soon. What a blessing your daughter is to the both of you.

Ok...so I guess I've missed something, what "time of serious
pain..." are you going through, what is it, and is there anything that can be done?
I will lift you up in prayer. I know only to well what these waves of pain can be like.
Please know I am praying for you...ok.!

Love & Prayers,
Ronda

Deanna,
I will gladly look at what you have. It is possible that we can get it from Netflix too.

Ronda,
I have residual scar tissue from a massive post op infection a few years ago. They removed adhesions from my liver/diaphragm about two years ago...but the area around my liver has been killing me the last couple of weeks and more severe the past couple of days. I want to hold off on going back to the Dr. until this busy period of our lives is past...if possible.

They will order lots of tests but are not likely to come up with any great answers...judging on past history. I will go if it doesn't settle down just to be sure it isn't something else.

I am so glad my girl is old enough to be such a great help.

First, I want to thank you for the encouraging words you left for my on my blog. Each one is written on my heart.

I have had my wisdom teeth... twice. Seems that I was more wise than originally known.

I LOVE that even under the influence of anesthesia you couldn't stump him!! What a way to take a test!

We are sorry to hear that Jonathan has pain. We hope that it goes away soon. It is too funny that you couldn't even stump him under anesthesia! That's not just a testament to his knowledge, but also to your teaching!
