Procrastinators Unite - 2nd Post

Sometimes I am brilliant!

Yesterday was one of those
days when I decided to enlist
Jonathan to help with the
chair project.

This guy works with wood every
chance he gets. Often you can
find him on the deck with a small
saw and a sander making some sort
of wooden weapon.

He is a boy...he likes guns and
swords. He just does.

I wondered what he would do with
an actual piece of furniture.
It was better than I even hoped!

He really got into it.

For about two hours he worked at
taking the seat off, pulling the tacks,
glueing and tightening the chair, and
finally sanding it.

I helped by taking pictures of the
process and then painting the chair.

While Jonathan was busy at this, Mikey
was mowing our yard and those of the two
Grandmas.

Later, Warren showed the boys how to change
the oil in one of our cars then he took
Jonathan out to practice driving.

It was a very "hands-on" day.

By the way...BIG NEWS...Mikey got a call
from Longwood Gardens and has an interview
about the Internship Program!!!!

It is still a very long shot since they have
never taken a homeschooler before...but we
are hopeful. The application process has been
a great experience for Mikey no matter what.
But, we really do hope he is accepted.

Chelsea got busy making cards yesterday and then
planned and helped to make our dinner. It was so
great. You can see one of the cards she made at
her blog here.

It was a good day with the kiddos.

Have a very wonderful weekend!

I couldn't help but worry when I saw the second picture, "Watch that left hand." If he slips ... OW!

Go Homeschoolers!

I've just come from Nadine's Nook where her daughters have been involved in meal planning. It's great when the kids are active in the life of the family. Keeping Mike's interview in prayer...

Hello Becky!

I just know that chair will turn out beautifully! I planned to do some card making myself, but I afraid I am a little behind schedule for Sunday's deadline...I think I will be heading for the nearest Hallmark Store.:o) Enjoy a beautiful day!

Smiles...

Hi Becky!
You have a treasure in a young man who will patiently sand and get an old chair ready for paint! Lucky mom!

Thank you so much for your kind sympathy on the loss of our dog, Connie. She was a member of the family, and I'm glad we were able to give her a stable and loving home for the last years of her life. But it's hard to say goodbye!

Thanks again, and also ...
Happy Mother's Day!
Cass
