Good Morning...Last Call!

The other day we were driving
down the road, in town,
when I noticed
a powder blue canoe in
someone's front yard.

Edited to add:

Yes, this is the canoe.
I got a quick pic as I drove by a few minutes ago.
I know, I can't believe I did it either.

It didn't mean anything to me until
the rain began. This rain that has
been pouring from the skies with no
thought of stopping.

I wonder if that family has a
"Noah Complex". ((Smile))

Chelsea suggested we join a preschool
not too far away called "Noah's Ark".

Yes, these are the thoughts that we
are thinking as the rain continues.

The one positive I have thought of is
that hopefully this means the rain will
be out of its system before our our
Blogger Meet at Longwood Gardens in
Kennett Square.

If you haven't contacted me and have been
thinking of joining us...this is the time.
E-mail me at beckypfa (@) yahoo.com with
your name, blog name and let me know you
wish to join us. I will email you with
details. Be sure to include Bloggers and
Longwood Gardens in your subject line.

This is the last call
before our fun day!

Hope you'll join us if you
are able.

Hi Becky. I see you comment over on Dear Vee's blog, all the time. Usually well before I get there, and get my comment up. But today, I actually beat you, with my quick, first comment, anyway. :-)))) And I got such a kick out of it, that I had to bounce over here and say Hi.

Wishing you and your pals, a lovely Blogger Meet, coming up!!! Did you know that in the "olden days" of Mailing Lists, which sort of came before blogs, when list friends got together, they called it a "Flesh Meet." Honest! :-)

Hope your rain lets up. And suppose it's coming up our way now... from the look of the forecast. I love to see the sun shining, but we do need rain....... Must remember that after about 5 days of overcast skies and when I'm getting so, so, so sick of gray. :-)

jAne,
I am ashamed to say that I don't know what that yellow flower is. I will take another photo when we are there and get the name...It is hanging beside a water fall. Most likely it is many smaller plants placed in such a way as to cascade.

It is stunning. Better in real life.

"Flat jAne" you shall be!
lol

i hope you'll take lots of pictures and share them with the rest of us☺

Dear Becky K.,
You commented; "...were the competitive type???"

I think this refers to my posting about the Kentucky Derby. To explain, we don't bet or go to the races. But we live in an old city, with a very old and very lovely race track. And it's part of our love of our area, which preserves its Victorian Heritage.

So it's all about the Victorian Heritage, and "I Love My Home Town" sort of a feeling. :-)

Last year, I became enamoured of "Big Brown," and his jockey, and had great fun watching him race, on tv. This year, there was no famous horse to watch, in the Kentucky Derby. But we watched it anyway, on tv. And it was sooooooooo much fun!

Little guy, comes from behind, and beats all the big guys. -giggles- And his jockey was 'over the moon,' and so cute. It was a great day and just plain fun.

Now, to watch 'Mine That Bird' and his jockey, the next time he runs, on tv. And keep our fingers crossed, that he'll be at our race track, in August. Just because it's great publicity for our 'home town' race course. :-)

Still raining? Perhaps you could rephrase the William Carlos Williams' poem:

so much depends
upon

a blue
canoe

glazed with rain
water

beside the white
chickens.

Diane, Don't worry, I have a feeling Becky will take LOTS of pictures (I'm saying that considering how many pics she puts on her blog...smile) (Lovely pics) But Becky, I don't take great photos...So you can skip one of me when we go...smile Just the flowers!

Oh Vee, that is perfect. I am going to try to sneak a picture of that canoe as I pass by in a little bit.

Jill,
I am concerned about what I will do when I run out of photo space in Blogger. Maybe we won't do pictures for this post...Ha!

We HAVE to do pictures. I look absolutely horrible in pictures but you and I can try to hide behind the more photogenic people.

Some people just can't look bad, you know? Makes me crazy!

This is going to be so much fun!

Add me to the list of "virtual" attendees, please.

It sounds like it will be so much fun!

Lots of rain here too but I will pray that it stops for your luncheon. You can still walk inside and take lots of photos with the flowers inside but the outside gardens must be so pretty. Just bring boots and an umbrella and take lots and lots of photos and post them to share. Say hi to everyone for me and I wish I was there to join in the fun.
