Echinacea

Otherwise known as
Purple Coneflower.

So full and pretty in my
garden right now.

I braved the
heat and humidity
for these photos.

But, they are worth it.
This weather seems to make
them very happy.

What I didn't realize until today
is that I have Double Echinacea!
This freaks Chelsea out.

Do you think it is
cool or weird?

Cool! And I had no idea that cone flowers are echinacea! Learn something new every day...now if I could just remember it...

This is my favorite medicinal herb and I had no idea it was so beautiful. You took beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing.

Becky,
Your cone flower is beautiful. Mine is very sad this year! It never seem to do well for me. Yours are lush and your photography is amazing!
I'm feeling pretty much back to normal, let's get together. How about coffee or breakfast?

I think that is really cool. I have an cone flower that is about to bloom in my garden. I think they are such pretty flowers.

I think it's weird! I like the first pictures without the flower on top of a flower. However, I had no idea that echinacea came from a flower. I drink a lot of echinacea tea and absolutely love it.

Well, as my gramma used to mutter and shake her head, "All God's chillun..." I'm with Chelsea. I think it's weird. But freaky beautiful in a bug sittin' on a rosebud way! Hugs... The name of that flower always sounds like a sneeze to me... It's way too early in the morning for me to post comments! The flowers are beautiful... Hugs again.

I have several purple echinacea plants in the front of my house a just a few little white ones. I LOVE how the butterflies are attracted to them.

haha... didn't know there were doubles either! So pretty! Our echinacea didn't survive the past winter. :o( I didn't replace them this year, but may next year as the butterflies & insects love 'em! Happy Days ((HUGS))

I have some coneflowers, too, Becky, and they are blooming their little hearts out! I've never seen a double one - it's beautiful! I'll have to keep my eye out for some of those now...
