More Longwood Garden Photos

Visit Melissa at The Inspired Room for more Beautiful Life Posts.
Thanks for hosting this weekly event, Melissa!

I've also just linked into Hooked on Friday. Hosted by Julia at Hooked on Houses.
You can click here to see her beautiful post about things we get Hooked on.

Welcome to any first time visitors from these two parties. In this post I reference Mikey and these gardens. This was Mikey's first week as a High School Intern at Longwood so it was so fun to hear about it and to see his work...

Yesterday, in the space of about
an hour Chelsea and I walked our
favorite paths at Longwood Gardens.

At one point I went into the Conservatory
while she waited outside overlooking the
fountains.

These caught my eye.

If they are not orange...

I don't know what is!

I spent some very enjoyable time
viewing the water gardens.

Truth be told, I don't usually
linger here because it is so hot
most days.

However, it was very
cloudy and in the mid seventies.
Perfect for viewing this area.

There was only one other visitor
in the area.

So I had a great time
snapping pictures
to my heart's content.

There are bright pink...

and soft yellow.

How about soft pink?

Alas, given my level of
talent and my unsophisticated
camera I finally ran out of
new ways to take the same
photo...

so we moved on.

Grapes anyone?

The marker says these are
yellow raspberries.
I have never heard of those.

The pears are looking
mighty fine.

Here the pink against the
green caught my eye.

The red wanted some attention too.

I had pink and red...
so why not a light purple?
Even though it is not
quite as stunning.
Shh...It is quite proud.

Oh, I've got more but I know
some of you have clicked away
and others are snoozing.

Oh, but there is just one more thing...

When Mikey looked at these photos
he saw this one and said,
"Hey! That is the area I worked in
yesterday! I deadheaded those dahlias
and weeded those flower beds!"

Now, what Momma wouldn't love
knowing that!
If only...he would get that same
pride from weeding my perennial beds.

Well, I hope you'll come back over the
next week or so to see the rest.

I am thinking maybe a
"Mr. McGregor's Garden"
Post for Outdoor Wednesday.
You just have to see
this veggie garden!

The fruits and vegetables are served
in the Garden's Cafe.
At least that was what Mom and Georgia
understood them to say.

About twenty pounds of
fresh peas were picked
and used yesterday.

How cool is that!

Have a great day!
Hope you keep your eye out
for beauty.
We tend to get what we look
for...so I'd rather search for
happy things.
How about you?

Yellow berries are new to me but last we I purchased a yellow watermelon for the first time accidently. It had a label that said YELLOW but I guess I missed that in the market. So when I cut into the watermelon my entire family was surprised. It was sweet and juicy and tasted just like watermelon but from now on I am gong to read those tiny label/stickers to make sure I get a red one:)

Hello Becky!

What beautiful photos! I love the grapevines!:o) My Grandmother had beautiful grapevines right along side her house. As kids we could not wait for them to ripen and every now and then we would sneak a few of the hard little fruit and pop them in our mouth. They were sour for sure but to us kids it did not matter, but to Grandma it matter a lot!:o) Happy 4th of July to you and your family!:o)

Smiles...
