Blue Monday Orchids

Ater many tries we finally got to
Longwood Gardens yesterday.
This was the first time since
Mikey worked there this past
Summer and I was excited to take
him back and hear stories.

It was as I had hoped.
Everywhere we walked he had
a memory or a story to tell.

We looked for his favorite kitty,
Iggy, by the brickwalk...but there
were too many people around.

We walked through the Conservatory where
he had so many neat experiences.

It was as if he were greeting old friends
as he saw certain plants. Ones he had
deadheaded, cleaned, made cuttings of.

I do believe he is cut out for this line
of work. It makes him happy.

We finally saw "the bees".
While Mikey did his rotation in the
Mum Field these bees were being prepared
for this display. He had to "plug" plants
into bare spots on the bee frame.
We were very excited to
see how they turned out...
at 150 pounds each they are
hung and looking quite
beelike.

Coming tomorrow...a Giveaway for my
900th Post.
Yikes!
That is embarrassing!

Nonetheless...I will be offering
you your choice of $48 worth of
my soy candles.
Head on over to the Candle Site
and see what you will choose if
you win.
Then COME BACK tomorrow
and enter!!!

Thanks Sally, for hosting Blue
Monday so faithfully each week!

I have to tell you that we were
at Goodwill last week and my
Eighteen Year Old son, Jonathan,
noticed a display in Blue and
suggested it would be good for
"That blue thing on your blog".
I found that just amazingly cute.
He really is paying attention...lol.

I love the first flower, what kind is it?

To start the week, I am sharing our walk in the park last weekend.

It was in the orchid room...so I am making an assumption that it is an orchid. There are soooo many different varieties and colors of orchids. It is amazing.
Thanks for popping by and commenting.

I loved to visit Longwood when we lived on the east coast. It would be wonderful if your son could make this his vocation. The bees are amazing. I hope you are having a wonderful Blue Monday.

Becky, the color of that orchid is AMAZING. And how sweet that you and your son had that time together. You are a good mom! Sometimes I think that all any child wants is time to be heard, and you gave him that... it's a lovely memory for the two of you, too.

Happy Blue Monday!

XO,

Sheila :-)

I love that speckly orchid-the speckles and especially the color. Just beautiful!

I bet Mikey loved seeing the stuff he "plugged" all filled in and gorgeous. I'm sure he had a sense of accomplishment as he looked at everything, remembering all his work so it would look as it does now.

900 posts? You go, girl! I'm chuckling over Johathan's "blue" comment, too.

Hello Becky, I just scrolled down to several of your posts I have missed. I am so glad I did. Your blog is a blessing and I love your text. You draw us right in and the stories are worth the read. I will make a point not to miss your posts in the future. Your post about the Conservatory is very sweet. A wonderful time with Mikey. The bees are amazing. He has a right to be very proud of them.

Your 'moms' in Israel is also a heartwarming story. It is wonderful they get along and can go on such a special trip together.

Thank you for visiting today and for your sweet comment about Cheri'. At this very moment she is napping. It is like watching a two year old when she is awake. biting cords, rug fringe and even the wood coffee table. She is wearing me out and I love every minute.

Have a happy day.

Hugs, Jeanne
